Celebrity -Approved Microneedling Treatment
It’s time to talk MICRONEEDLING!
Microneedling, similar to mesostamping, is done with an electric pen device that has a series of microneedles that are used to create micro-injuries.
As these injuries start to heal, they produce collagen and elastin in the body. Cue the famous “Kim K Vampire Facial Photo” HERE.
With the rise of social media came the rise of aesthetic medicine, and thanks to celebrities like Kylie and Kim, the rise in popularity of microneedling.
Microneedling is praised for its ability to soften fine lines, static and expressive wrinkles, and improve skin integrity, texture and tone. It’s one of the best treatments for improving the look of acne scars and surgical scars, as well as aiding in the regrowth of hair follicles.
YES, hair restoration!
So, what’s the difference between a Vampire Facial and microneedling?
They are actually pretty similar!
Vampire Facials incorporate PRP (platelet-rich plasma) topically so that the platelets penetrate deep into the dermal layers of the skin to stimulate a local growth cell response that we don’t see with microneedling alone. Straight microneedling uses hyaluronic acid serum or another serum type to hydrate the skin topically.
So, how do you know which is the best choice for your skin type?
Suffering from large pores? Acne? Stubborn wrinkles? Deep scar tissue? Sun damage? Vampire Facials are going to be your BEST FRIEND!
Looking to improve fine lines and small wrinkles? Improve elasticity? Create a tighter, firmer looking appearance? Microneedling is the way to GO!
The recovery time is about the same for both. While some post-treatment redness is expected, that should settle within a day or so. Mild pinpricks on the surface of the skin will make your face and neck VERY sensitive to sunlight, which is why wearing your medical grade SPF 365 days a year is KEY!
Both are best done in sessions—typically 3–4 sessions about four weeks apart for optimal results. Then regular maintenance a few times a year after that is good.
Want to know the best part about using PRP? It’s all natural! And if there’s any left over, it’s one of the safest things to inject into the face as a natural dermal filler. PRP involves spinning the client’s blood in a centrifuge to separate the blood components. The plasma will rise to the top of the blood tube. This is the “liquid gold.”
In aesthetics, we literally treat this like GOLD. We don’t waste any—not even one drop!
Its effects are truly incredible and can be felt immediately after treatment.
Your nurse injector will typically use any leftover liquid gold for targeted injections into the skin using a needle or cannula to help improve stubborn scarring, dark pigmentation (like under-eye bags) or areas of volume loss/depletion (deep smile lines) to naturally get the body to produce its own collagen.
My favourite part about targeted injections?
Only a 40-minute downtime, minimal swelling/puffiness and results are gradual within a few weeks time. No puffy eyes, no hiding behind a mask (unless you’re out in public these days, hehe) and no visible signs you had any treatments done. Your body naturally reabsorbs the PRP on its own very quickly!
ALSO, unlike dermal fillers, there’s no risk of blocked vessels or anything of that nature!
Haven’t tried it yet? Honestly, I’m not sure why you haven’t booked an appointment!
Take this as your anti-aging fairy godmother giving you the “SIGN” to pamper away and experience this treatment firsthand.
Can’t wait to hear all about your experience!
