Pre & Post Care Tips
Pre-Care For Neuromodulators
• Do NOT consume alcoholic or caffeinated beverages at least 24- 48 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)
• Avoid high sodium foods, spicy food, and cigarettes 24-48 hours prior to your appointment date as this can increase the risk of irritation and swelling to the area
• Avoid anti-inflammatory/ blood-thinning medications, if possible for a period of 2 weeks before treatment.
• AVOID Medications and supplements such as Aspirin, Vitamin A & E, GInkgo Biloba, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/ Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Garlic, Flax Oil, Motrin, Advil, Naproxen/ Aleve, and other NSAIDS have a blood-thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after your treatment (Tylenol is ok)
• Discontinue Retin-A 2 days before and 2 days after treatment
• Please schedule your dermal filler appointment at least 2 weeks prior to any special event, dental appointment, additional medical-grade skincare treatment (i.e. dermabrasion, chemical peel, etc.) or permanent makeup treatment (ie. lip blush microblading, etc), as this can alter results of the filler. Additionally, some bruising and swelling can take up to 7-10 days to subside fully
• Please advise your injector if you are prone to cold sores or keloid scarring prior to your appointment
• If you are prescribed antiviral medications prior to your treatment date, please take them leading up to and including the day of the procedure as well as a few days after
• Please do NOT engage in any strenuous activity the day of the appointment
• Please be sure to eat a well-balanced meal prior to your treatment to decrease the risk of adverse effects such as lightheadedness, and dizziness during the treatment
• Please advise your injector if you have a latex allergy or allergy to rubbing alcohol
• Over-the-counter, natural medications such as Arnica and pineapple can be used up to the day of the treatment to help reduce swelling and bruising. Continue use immediately after the treatment
• Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or hair removal creams to the area being treated
• If a rash or skin irritation occurs prior to your appointment, your appointment must be moved. Please call the clinic

Post-Care For Dermal Fillers
Congratulations Boutique BABE on your new dermal filler procedure! Here are some simple instructions to take home post filler injection:
• Do NOT touch, rub or manipulate the area of injection
• DO check for blood refill to the area of injection as shown by your injector for 24-48 hrs
• DO drink lots of water! (Dermal fillers thrive off of hydration, the more you stay hydrated the better your healing results will be!)
• Do NOT apply makeup until 24hrs post-injection
• Do NOT expose injected area to extreme heat or cold (i.e. sunbathing or tanning bed, hot wax, or hot tubs/ saunas)
• Do NOT schedule permanent makeup services or dental procedures within 2 weeks of receiving your dermal filler treatment
• Refrain from strenuous exercise 24 hours post-treatment (i.e. running, working out, swimming, biking, etc.)
• Refrain from taking ibuprofen (Advil), Aspirin, Motrin, Aleve, Fish Oil, or Vitamin E for 24- 48 hrs post-treatment (Tylenol is OK)
• Refrain from taking herbal supplements such as St. John’s Wart, Ginkgo Biloba, Primrose Oil, Garlic, and Ginseng for 24- 48 hrs post-treatment
• Apply ice if needed to the area to reduce swelling
• ONLY use a BRAND NEW lip balm on newly injected lips (to decrease the risk of injection)
• Avoid waxing, bleaching, or tweezing the area after your injection treatment
• Bruising and swelling are common after injection and will subside in 3-5 days (pineapple & arnica is great for bruising!)
• Continue to take any medications after your procedure as instructed to do so by our medical director (i.e. cold sore meds)
• DO NOT book travel within 2 weeks of your injection treatment
• You can return to your normal daily activities right after your procedure
• LUMPS OR BUMPS can be felt with filler injections, this will wear off over time and CAN be corrected with your injector (for small lumps or bumps immediately post-injection these can be massaged out with clean hands only)
• Continue to use appropriate SPF sunscreen as recommended by your injector
• Book your follow-up appointment with our clinic for any top-ups and questions you might have
Dermal Fillers are metabolized in the body at different rates for every patient and results are seen immediately after the procedure. Typically, you will need retreatment of the area in 6-12 months (this is a PREVENTATIVE estimate). If you have any concerns about your procedure or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate your needs and answer any questions you may have
Post-Care For Neuromodulators
• Do NOT rub or massage the area of injection
• Do NOT apply makeup until 24hrs post-injection
• Do NOT lay down flat or bend over 4 hours after your injection (stay as upright as possible- toxin can migrate)
• Continue to use your facial expressions as normal, exaggeration of facial expressions will not increase the efficacy of the treatment
• Refrain from strenuous exercise 24 hours post-treatment (i.e. running, working out, swimming, biking, etc.)
• Refrain from taking ibuprofen (Advil), Motrin, Aleve, Aspirin, Fish Oil, St. John’s Wart, or Vitamin E for 24 hrs post-treatment
• Apply ice if needed to the area to reduce swelling
• Bruising and swelling are common after injection (Arnica & pineapple are great for bruising!)
• Headache is a common side effect of toxin treatment, please use Tylenol to relieve symptoms
• You can return to your normal daily activities right after your procedure
• Asymmetry can be common with toxin injections, this will wear off over time and CAN be corrected with your injector (you may require an additional dose of toxin to even things out)
• Toxins can take up to 14 days after injection to see the full result with some starting to take effect up to 4 days post-procedure (please give them time to work)
